What's it all about?
In 2008 I came across a healthy eating plan in The Netherlands. I was so taken by it and saw so many amazing results that I decided, together with my husband, to follow the programme.
Both of us experienced considerable health improvements and it convinced us that many more people could benefit in the same way. It showed us how you can be healthy through eating the right foods.
The experience inspired me to train as a nutrition coach – so that I could share my knowledge with as many people as possible and give them the support that they need to regain their health. I undertook extensive training both in Holland and in the UK and now run my own practice from home, regularly speak on nutrition and have published 2 recipe books.
In 2015 the original plan was relaunched in Holland by orthomolecular practitioner Nettie Bom. She discovered the power of food in 2002 when her eczema and kilo’s disappeared due to changing the way she ate. For the past 15 years, together with colleagues, she has helped thousands of people to better health. All her experience culminated in the “DeEetlijn Plan” which has been translated into “The EatWright Plan”.
We all know obesity is on the increase, for a number of reasons, but primarily because people don’t eat as healthily as they once did. This, together with the lack of exercise and the growth of snacking and convenience foods, causes weight increase and health conditions.
Having extensively studied the subject of diets and healthy eating, I know that to truly change our weight and our health, we need to change our lifestyle. The EatWright plan helps you do just that, so you can become healthier, slimmer and fitter… with lasting results.
The plan is much more than a diet, it is a genuine lifestyle change and it can make a real difference to your life.

Leonie’s family have been baking since the early 1800’s. For five generations the ‘Breed’ family were village bakers in Holland. Starting in the village of Beemster, Leonie’s great, great Grandfather baked bread for the locals and handed down the family tradition through the eldest son until Leonie’s grandfather ventured to the village of Edam – also famous for the cheese!

With his brother, Piet, Leonie’s Father, Cor, started work in the family bakery at 14 years old. For the next 45 years he made bread and delivered it to locals in the bicycle bread cart (while Piet was in charge of cakes and biscuits). Now retired, he remembers the devastation caused when, in 1939, the original bakery burned-down when he was only six. Undeterred, the family rebuilt and prospered with secret recipes.
The “Spritz” biscuit was created by Uncle Piet and locals came from miles for the shortbread-style treat. When Uncle Piet passed-away, the recipe became a family secret – yet to be passed down the next generation!
Leonie remembers working in the family bakery as a child of 12 – organising the biscuits and packing them into little bags for display. Leonie remembers working in the family bakery as a child of 12 – organising the biscuits and packing them into little bags for display. However, it was not until her early thirties that her passion for baking took-off. While making birthday cakes for her sons, Leonie’s talent for baking emerged and commissions for cakes by family and friends began to arrive.
Uncle Piet taught Leonie the secrets of baking and always advised her to “…use the right equipment and whisk your eggs properly!”

Like most people, Leonie was living on a modern diet until, in 2008, she was diagnosed with high blood pressure, migraines and high cholesterol. The food we ate 5 generations ago, like the bread baked by the Breed bakers of Beemster, was healthy and natural. A modern diet had caused health problems instead of good health. After discovering a new way of eating, back in her native Holland, Leonie cured her health conditions and embarked on a journey back to the old way of eating her family were always a part of.
